REFRIGERATION TREATMENT

A very significant overhead in operating business premises, whether warehousing, cold rooms or office blocks, is the cost of cooling. This applies to cold rooms in warehouse/distribution centres and air conditioning in offices, computer suites and data centres.

Inspection of the manufacturers data plates on external condensers will reveal the stated efficiency of the equipment as a percentage. Invariably the percentage efficiency is at or below 50%.

With new equipment, correctly installed and commissioned, this level of efficiency can be reasonably expected to be achieved. However, as time goes by, with continued use, the efficiency of the equipment will fall, even with regular servicing and maintenance.

The cause of the drop off in efficiency and subsequent reduction in system performance is oil fouling within the pipes, filters and compressor.

Working with our partners, the introduction of a 3 part synthetic catalyst improves system performance, increases system efficiency thereby reducing energy consumption by typically 25%, reduces operating noise on external units and can extend the operational life of a system by up to 5 years.

As a true catalyst, the effects are continuous with no change to the catalyst itself so no further additional catalyst is required in the future unless the refrigerant gas is changed.

THREE PART CATALYST PROCESS 

• Catalyst 1 breaks down the surface tension forces between the oil molecules that area attached to the piping and coils. This breaks up the oil fouling, reduces sludge particles and returns the oil back to the compressor and allows the system to return close to the original design efficiency.

• Catalyst 2 reacts with the refrigerant to lower the boiling point of the liquid typically by 0.5-1.5 Degrees C. This small change allows the refrigerant to release its energy faster and results in cooler air being delivered at a rapid rate. The effect of this change reduces the run time required for the equipment resulting in energy and hence cost savings.

• Catalyst 3 is a lubricity agent that increases the lubricity of the compressor oil by up to 56% reducing friction of moving components of the system, reducing the operating temperature of the compressor and contributes to the audible sound emanating from the system
